Criminal Offence

Have you ever been convicted of any criminal offence or have anything pending, or an offence under the Investment Advisors (Disclosure) Act 16 1996, excluding those offences that you are not required to disclose pursuant to the Criminal Records (Clean Slate) Act 2004?

  2. are the subject of any criminal investigation or prosecution and/or;
  3. have ever been sentenced to imprisonment

Please be aware that the ASB Group do criminal history checks on all new employees. Having a criminal conviction will not automatically bar you from employment with the ASB Group; however, failure to disclose any criminal convictions which are later disclosed may result in dismissal.

Criminal Convictions (Clean Slate Act)

As part of the recruitment process for ASB Bank, we are required to ask all applicants about criminal convictions. Under the Criminal Records (Clean Slate) Act 2004, you are not required to disclose convictions that qualify for clean slate status. However, you must disclose any convictions that do not qualify, including any convictions for which you received a custodial sentence, or any convictions within the last 7 years.

Having a criminal conviction does not automatically disqualify you from employment. Each case is considered on its merits in relation to the role.

Background Check Consent

As part of the recruitment process, Mana Mahi and ASB Bank will conduct comprehensive background checks on shortlisted candidates. This may include, but is not limited to:
